We can see tensions building, especially in both Syria and Iran. Quietly, secretively, the U.S. and NATO have been amassing troops, planes, and warships in the region. This is on top of the covert ops already taking place within those countries. Follow along with these articles;

In earthquakes of 4.5+ magnitude; 2/10 had 13, with a 5.9 in the Fiji region. 2/11 yielded 16, the top being a 5.6 in Bio-Bio, Chile. 2/12 had but 8, with 5.1's off the coast near Honshu, Japan, and the south coast of Peru.
