It is widely suspected that a covert war is already well underway in Iran. But make no mistake about it, the real objective in Iran will only be achieved through a full-fledged war. Outside powers would not stop at disabling their nuclear program, even if they were truly successful at it. No, these covert actions are also hoped to provoke Iran into doing something blatantly aggressive for self-preservation, whereby the West could accuse them of "terrorist" actions.
Other violent accounts include;
- Regime forces kill 2 in Yemen's Taizz.
- Israel prevents Gaza power plant repairs.
- Palestine's U.N. statehood bid unflinching, says Abbas.
- Violence kills 25 across Somalia.
- Dozens of bodies dumped in flashpoint Syrian city, activist says.
- 52 Afghans killed in Ashura bomb blast.
- At least 33 killed, 101 wounded in several Iraq explosions.
Things are tense back here in the U.S. as well, with the immanent financial collapse, and the new "indefinite detention" bill that has just zipped through the senate.
Obama has promised to veto this detention bill, but please don't think it is suddenly because he has become a "good guy" on the side of the Constitution, or personal liberties; please read, The Real Reason why the President has threatened to veto this bill.
